Artist Personal Statement:

“Born in a family of art, I became interested in Chinese painting since childhood, and I practiced it for several hours every day. But at that time it was just a hobby until I participated in a national art competition and won the grand prize. Then I began formally determining the direction of painting to be a lifelong faith, and in the meantime decided to apply for the Chinese Academy of Art. Because I was belonging in an academic school, I feel that the art I do should be both refined and popular, instead of following the trend. The work has to be realistic and reflect my true ideas. I am also obsessed with the state of selflessness when creating, and I am constantly getting satisfaction and sense of accomplishment in it. I hope that every time the audience in the exhibition will spontaneously stay in front of my paintings, then take out their phones to take pictures, or even take selfie with my works. This is an affirmation to me.”
